The Repair Cafe comes back to Llanfyllin! Saturday 23rd April at the Public Institute. 12–3pm.
Bookings only so do hurry to book in your treasured possessions by 18th April by emailing osbordersrepaircafe@gmail.com!
We typically mend: mechanical, electrical, electronic and wooden objects;
bikes,
furniture,
glass and ceramics,
musical instruments,
IT hardware and software and vintage valve radios.
Clothing repairers usually mend: woollens, zips, hems and seams by machine and by hand, as well as making alterations.
We’re still avoiding crowds so the booking system remains in place.
There will be refreshments served outside – tea, coffee, squash and bite-sized delicious nibbles.
Looking forward to seeing you again!
Pre-Covid we met on the first Saturday of every month, alternating between Oswestry Memorial Hall and Llanfyllin Public Institute, 12–3pm.
The repair service moved online during the pandemic. Even though we’re trialling physical meets again, you can still contact the group here on Facebook for remote guidance through a fix or to arrange a drop-off and collect repair.
Normally, at repair cafes volunteer fixperts are available to mend items free of charge. Tools and materials are on hand. People visiting the repair café bring along their broken belongings to be fixed. They sit with the fixperts to learn how to make the repair themselves. Tea, home-made cakes and newspapers are available while they wait. Any donations fund future cafes.
