Using funds from the UK Community Renewal Fund, Arts Connection have brought together members of the local community to get a clearer understanding of what’s working locally, what barriers exist, and what the community needs. Aiming to create more awareness of the opportunities that exist locally, their Future Designs report set out to create an action plan for improving things for the future.

Llanfyllin’s community fridge project is nearly ready to launch and has a new name – Community Pantri Cymunedol – reflecting its wider potential. The Pantri is launching over the next two months and is looking for volunteers – if you’d like to help out please email the BRACE committee.

Dewi Morris from the Severn Rivers Trust describes the challenges facing the River Cain, and gives a preview of how the Smart Rivers Hub will be supporting conservation in the River in the coming years, in this blog post.

The BRACE Annual General Meeting will take place at The Cross Keys, Llanfyllin, on Thursday 27th October 2022. The meeting starts at 7pm. The agenda is as shown below. As required by our Constitution, members of the present Steering Committee will retire at the AGM although they may, and we hope will, be seeking re-election….
Can the 20 min community concept work in rural communities?
As many of you will know, BRACE has been helping PACE to carry out research locally into the amenities available locally, trying to identify any gaps in the facilities and services on offer. The research is an attempt to see whether the urban concept of 20-minute Neighbourhoods can be applied in a rural setting. The results are in! Join us on the 21st September on Zoom for a presentation of, and disucussion about, the findings.

An Update from the Llanfyllin Show

Volunteers needed for the Llanfyllin Food Fair!
BRACE will be having a stall at the Llanfyllin Food Fair on Sunday 11th September, from 10am. We’d love some volunteers to staff the stall and chat to people all about BRACE. If you’re free and able to help out for a shift – even just for an hour – that would be super helpful.
